Manufactured and Tested to OE Performance Specification

An ignition coil is an induction coil that transforms the 12-volt current from a battery into the high-voltage current required by spark plugs to ignite the combustible gas. The ignition coil consists of a primary coil and a secondary coil, each with a different number of wire turns. The primary coil generates a magnetic field with the battery voltage and by using this magnetic field; the secondary coil will have tens of thousands of volts of induced current. Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc.’s ignition coil is designed to be closer to the spark plug, providing the most efficient spark and reducing the need for spark plug wires.
